Water pump or something else? how to tell?

About 2 weeks ago I replaced a snapped timing belt, but didn't change the water pump. Now I am seeing a new water leak under the front of the engine (It was dripping directly below the crank pulley). It drips immediately after the first drive of the day, the behaves afterwards.

It seems like a no brainer that it is the water pump. The only problem is that the weep hole and the top of the pump are bone dry. Can it leak out the back of the pump without getting anything in the weep hole, or is the problem somewhere else?

The thermostat housing is really close to the water pump. And all water pumps can develop leaks at the gasket mating surface. Especially on an engine that has over heated or had/has internal gasket issues where cylinder pressure is leaking into the cooling system.
