1994 2.3 Engine Swap

Hi Everyone, I haven't been on here in awhile, but hopefully you guys can help me with my current situation, here it goes..

1994 Ranger
Single Cab short bed
2.3 5 speed
OBD I

I don't want to waste your guys time with a 5 page essay of what happened...long story short,

truck overheated, now runs like crap.
cylinder #3 has low/not enough compression
getting another 2.3 out of either a 92 (square) or 93 (my generation) ranger

I was leaning toward the 92 engine (because I know the owner, won't get screwed over)

I was wanting to do the engine swap very soon and I wasn't sure if there were any major brackets or mounting issues the I would have from the 92 engine into my 94 truck?

And also correct me if I'm wrong, but I should get an OBD I 2.3 right? I wasn't sure how well a 95+ OBD II 2.3 engine would wire up to my OBD I wiring in my 94 truck

I believe the 92 is a stick shift as well, so that should help.
