Hey all. 99 mazda b2500, I4 2wd, got a few problems that i can't quite diagnose. First start of the day when i shift out of park into D or R, the quickly surges down about 400 rpms then back up to around 1100. Also shifts rough from 1st to 2nd and a little hard from 2 to 3. when im idling and turn on the AC compressor, it will also surge and drop rpms before shooting back up. the truck has 136k on it, i just got it recently and have since changed plugs and wires, air filter, engine oil and transmission fluid. what gives? Vacuum leak? IAC? Also, where the hell is the PCV valve and what does it look like on this engine? it sure isn't in the valve cover, and trying to follow the diagram under the hood was no help. Can someone with a 2.5 take a picture and post it please? My haynes manual completely ignores my engine for this section. thanks.

 

right...found the pcv, looks good, rattles when it shakes. Checked for vac leaks with propane, couldn't find any spots that made the engine race. Guess I'll check out the IAC and TB, clean em up, if that dont help maybe im due for a new trans. any other suggestions would help.
