this coming week Im going to be putting on some of the stuff I bought for my little power house 2.3 (lol) but I have a question about the exhaust. Were Im living I dont need the cat so Im thinking about hollowing it out or just put a straight pipe in its place. Can I do this without messing anything up?

My list for the week is

Magnaflow muffler
K&N filter with stock box
3.73 or 4.10 grears ( i have both new in the box)

what can i do with the cat? will it help to get it out of there?

i didn't have a cat on my 2.3 and it didn't mess anything up, i would slide straight pipe in it since at least in pa you still need it for the visual / safety inspection, it will help to get it out if you have a free flowing muffle and headers would help as well, and 4.10 gears probably the best little 2.3 will be able to move the truck easier witht hose than with the 3.73
