Recently, my '95 auto 4-banger has been making a sparking noise whenever I take off from a complete stop. I've also noticed a very slight stutter in the take off as well, but both only happen when I come to a complete stop. What could this be?

My older brother told me it sounds like I need a set of new plug wires. Does that sound about right? I'm at 210,000 miles BTW.

 

have you replaced them before. and yes that sounds like the problem, changed mine at 134k

 

With the engine off , take a small mirror and look at the inside top of the radiator shroud , above the fanblade and the ends of the fan itself .If it looks like the two have been touching examine the engine mounts . If one is broken / loose it will let the engine rise up from the frame on takeoff causing the fan to hit the shroud.
