O2 sensors on my 96 Ranger

need to know how many O2 sensors are on my 96 Ranger..has 2.3L 4cyl. check engine light came on and read code P1131 so i'm going to change my O2 sensors because its drinking gas like crazy also....just need some help on locating all my sensors. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P1131, it would mean that O2 Sensor before the cat is bad. Easiest way to find out how many you have would be to get under the truck and look. I assume its the first O2 sensor in the exhaust because I do not know exactly how many cats you have I cannot say its between such and such.

You should have two. One before the cat and one after. Get to the one before the cat from under the hood, get to the one after it by going under the truck.

What he said ^^^^^^^^ Should be the first one before that cat (assuming you only have 1 cat...?)

I got 3 damn 02 sensors on my truck. but any way, disconnect the ground wire to your truck for 10min, than hook it back up, that will reset everything, and of course, if the light comes back on it's not fixed.

hey Fletch..think maybe you can get a shot of all the O2 sensors on your 96 so I can compare to mine...it would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

1131 i think is lean bank one?

i'd check for a vacuum leak if its dumping fuel.
