Question ..

Hey guys, im new to the board.

anyway, I have a 2001 ford ranger. 2.3l 4 cylinder and i was just wondering on what you guys think i should do. should i go for the bigger tires/lift it or the mini truck apperance and get the 18's and lower appearance? Im pretty pissed because it is really a short truck, small bed and ranger xlt, no extended cab, so the speaker usage is limited, what do you guys suggest i do about the sound, is there room for any? im pretty new to the whole spiffing the vehicle up so any pointers would help.

thanks
-rob

well, what do you want?

you want high or low?

I myself have a 2001 2.3 duratec reg cab thats lowered 5inches front to back with some 17s and a small 10inch sub

I also have a 1999 2.5 4cyclinder reb cab that is lifed on some 31x15x10.5s and it doesnt have a system, but ive thought about putting a bazzoka tube in it

It all depends on what you like. i got hooked on the lowering crowd because of RPS (more lowered guys then most) and going to Showfest 2003 (my first REAL truck show)

ok i have something simaler to your truck for the inside sound i have NO sub because i cant afford to lose my room so i have 4-way pioneer speakers and pioneer head unit sounds great, i just so happen to love the sound of pioneer. now i went the little bigger route and off-road side being we have snow most the year and pot holes kill vehicals.
here is my truck

Well you could always take out the center console "section" of the 60/40 seats and build a console and put your ICE in their you could possibly fit maybe two 12's in their if you have an auto. That is what it looks like you could fit in their to me, IMO.

You're in GA so go big.

i was able to fit a small sub box behind the driver seat without losing clicks, and then i added mustang buckets and gained even more room, now i just need a bigger sub box

Tapout I'd vote with lifting it. I wish my truck was single cab.. They are better offroading because of their short wheelbase and they look taller with a little lifting. Also. they sell flat-ish sub boxes that fit behind your seats, go to your local pawnshop.

Hi Rob, welcome to RF. I have the same truck you do, so it's pretty easy to recommend stuff. I'd say start by checking out my site, and see if there's anything you'd like to try on your truck. http://silvertank.batcave.net/index.htm

After that, if you have questions, just drop me a line or start a thread.

I am gonna be different and say lower it. I have been to both extremes(almost) and am enjoying the lowered(getting low) world now.
