Rattling coming from a 97 2.3

Sounds like its coming from the front. Only does it when I give it gas, and it comes and goes. One day it wont do it, one day it will.

Ideas?

That could be your alternator then. You just need to idle the truck and get under-hood and listen to the different parts...you'll be able to determine the source between the A/C pump, Alternator, and Tensioner easily.

Try some high octane gas and see if that cures it.

Another try is sometimes a plugged catalytic converter will translate into engine ping and the A/C load only makes it worse.
