Vacuum Hose Routing: Help Wanted

Hi, I've had the "stuck on defrost" problem for a while and I figure it's about time to fix it. I was checking out my vacuum hoses and found some interesting stuff. I have a 98 2.5L. Here's some pictures of what I'm looking at.

Ignore the dates on the photos lol...been meaning to change that. The hoses are as follows:

RED ARROWS: Runs from black plastic sphere near passenger's side headlight and disappears under A/C unit.

GREEN ARROWS: Runs from black plastic sphere and terminates in a burnt up mess of plastic where the green circle is; looks like the circled/burnt thing used to be a connector.

BLUE ARROWS: Runs into a wire loom type thing and appears to go back along the valve cover towards the firewall.

My first instinct is the black hose marked with green arrows should connect to the red hose marked with the blue arrows. I could be very wrong and just wanted to make sure before I do something stupid lol.

Any help is greatly appreciated. If more pictures are needed just let me know.

Well I changed my oil on Monday and while I was under the truck found another one dangling under the a/c unit. I connected that to the green arrow one and now all of the fan speeds work (1,2,3,4) (previously I had only had 2, 3, and 4).

Still no idea what the one labeled with the blue arrows is supposed to connect to. Anybody with a 2.5 know if it's supposed to be connected to anything or able to take a picture for me?

there should be 2 that come out from under the a/c unit and go into the firewall. the black hose should go from your firewall too the Vacuum Tank Reservior( Plastic Ball with 2 holes in it). I have a 2wd and the reservior is located behind the passenger side front quarter panel. If you remove the Front Right splash guard above the tire you can see it. On mine the red hose or your blue arrow goes to one hole on the reservior inlet. The white or black hose goes from the Reservior outlet to the Firewall. The second hose coming from the firewall on mine is grey and I think it is your heater control vacuum.

Yes that is very confusing. Especially when you only have a choice between 2 port heater valves and 4 port heater valves and you have three hoses. I just put all three on a three way hook up. But still having vaccum issues.
