yes it is sumthin you can actually do.
start researchin the B234F volvo cylinder head. the is some fabrication involved, and it takes quite a bit of mechanical skill, but it can be done and there are runnin examples out there.
here is a crash course from a tubo site w/quite a bit of background info:

the same can be done on a N/A lima ranger, w/o the extra turbo work. the 16V volvo was N/A to begin with and put down 153hp in factory form.
that article is not the ONLY way to make the conversion work either. there are multiple ways to skin the cat, as the sayin goes.
