Hello! I am new to the forum and looking for some help with my 1996 Ford Ranger 2wd. The truck was previously swapped to a 2.5L before my ownership. The transmission was also swapped during this to what I believe is a 98+ that was always mated to the 2.5L.

Everything is in great shape and works as it should except the speedo and odometer. I am aware the 96 truck uses the VSS for speed and the 98 does not. From the research/searching I have done I cannot find a place to insert a VSS on the 98 transmission.

If anyone has any advice on how to move forward with this information to get the speedo and odometer working that would be great. I am hoping to not have to find/swap back to the 96 trans but that is my only real idea as of now. Thank you in advance!
