HELP!! 2.3 dual plug intermittent spark!!

91 ranger 2.3L dual plug engine, loses spark intermittently in the exhaust side coil pack. spark comes and goes at will. pulls codes 88(dual plug input control failure) and 18(idm circuit failure). it goes from running great to crappy in an instant(and vice versa). plugs, plug wires, coil packs are all good. ignition module was tested twice, both times it tested ok. any help with this would be appreciated. thanks

i had this same problem with my moms truck.. i forget what the thing is called.. its the gray thing that mounts to the intake and has three bolts and plug on each end.. they are $80 new and around $10-20 from a junkyard. also make sure you dont break any of the bolts off..

yeah i had mine tested and it was fine.. was giving me the dual plug code.. part after part later.. got one from a local junkyard and it fixed it. i broke one of the bolts off and the truck wouldnt start.. it has to have ground to one on the left holes for ground..

Yes, but 30 is better than 130, which is how much autozone wants for one........
