New to me truck...

I am not new to RF, I have been on here for a while, just wanted to mention that I picked up a 96 4cyl so I will be on this section of the forum more often. Anyone have any good advice for my 2liter beater? It has 171300miles, so I seafoamed it and popped in a new air filter already. Plugs and wires soon, oh hey that reminds me... Why did Ford put 8 plugs in this thing? I havent seen that before.

It's a Dual Spark Ignition truck. It is solely for emissions purposes, and only results in causing the end user to spend TWICE as much when replacing plugs, wires, or DIS modules. Basically the passenger's side or exhaust side plugs fire after initial combustion to burn off exhaust gasses a little bit more.

Good move on the Sea Foam and air filter. How about an oil and filter change, tranny fluid and filter change, and check the rear diff fluid. Those can be done in a few hours on a nice day. I would also run a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner. Maybe even clean the MAF, IAT, IAC, and throttle body with electronics cleaner and carb cleaner respectively. How does the coolant look?

Tranny and coolant were just flushed, and oil change isnt up for 2600 miles, I did do the MAF cleaning when I did the seafoam. As for the IAT,IAC, and throttle body I havent touched them yet. Diff fluid will be done when I can use my buddies lift hopefullyon tuesday
