homemade 2.5 intake tube

I was just wondering if anyone has ever made their own intake kit. The air intake kits are hard to find for the 2.5 and are pretty expensive. Just curious if anyone has done it and if so, how?

ive seen people buy a civic "cold air intake" from autozone and cut it up to fit 2.3, 2.5 engines

Personally, when i had a 99 2.5 i found one on ebay for cheap, that was MENT for the 2.5
