What year did they switch to obd2?

I'm looking into possibly trading my civic for a ranger and its a 95. Just wondering if that or 96 was the first year for obdII

Most cars and light trucks became OBDII compliant in 1996 but 1995 was the first year for OBDII Rangers.

yes it will, i bought what was said a 2.5l that turned out to be a 2-28-1996 engine, and im putting it in my 00 as we speak, i had to swap the engine harness for my original and change a couple of sensors and motor mounts. im installing the new clutch and timing belt tomorrow so ill let u know how it works when i put it in
