Gauges

I have a 2000 Ford ranger 2wd 4cy and its a stick. I was wondering if it would be possible to put gauges from a 2000 Ranger 4x4 automatic simply for the rpm gauge. Also I do not really want to sacrifice the oil, temp, batt speedo gauges etc .

I kinda want a clean look and do not want to put a aftermarket gauge. And was wondering if the wiring harness was prep'd for it and if it would work??

Ty for any answers....greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, it is a direct swap. You'll need to unsnap the PRND21 indicator if it's there and substitute the plain blanking plate from your cluster.

Do you have to install a sensor for the tachometer to work?

Well I talked to a friend that is gonna help me do this swap. We are both kinda ignorant to what a PRND21 is??? Sounds like something with the over-rev or somehting about a specific trans from what i can grasp. I think the substitution plate will be self explainatory when I remove old one. Also I kinda let the 2000 gauges slip thru my hands. What years would still be ok 99 thru.....?? TY again for any info

When you put your new one in if it is from an auto, you need to take your blank plastic thing out of you old one (where it would show you what gear you are in if you have an automatic) and put it in the new one.
