04 Ranger alxe swap HELP

i just finished parting out my cherokee and i have a D35 w/ an ARB/ 4.10 gears that id like to swap in my 04 2wd ranger, the main question can it be done?

i was told that the axles are the same length, so the only thing that i need to modified would be the spring perches and shock mounts?

plz help it will make a hell of alot of diference in the winter

thanks

I think he is referring to a rear D35....if so, here is now random stuff I'm making up to think about before taking on this project...(I'm kidding about the made up part, just my little inside joke).....

As for width, I know the Ex 8.8 is about 1.5" wider than a Ranger 8.8. Not sure if TJ axles are the same as Cherokees, but I know the Ex axles are actually narrower than the Jeep axles. That said, I would assume the cherokee axle may be wider than your stock axle, keep that in mind.

Not sure if the cherokee shaft uses a flange or yoke, but the Ranger does. You would have to look into possibly getting a new dshaft or yoke/flange at the axle for the swap.

Also have to worry about shock mounts and spring pad width.

Not too hard of a swap, but you will gain nothing in strength, only the gearing and locker.

well its a super 35 kit with upgraded 30 spline, ya forgot about the driveshaft...i still have my rear driveshaft from my SYE kit maybe that would work...

does anyone have any specs on my type of axle like lengths of perches and shock mounts at what degree..

also what axle? bolt pattern? in ranger 5x4.5?

thank again

Bolt pattern is the same, you need to find new pads and shocks to weld on. Not sure if the pad width is the same, but you also need to worry about pinion angle.

Might as well do it right the first time, just a little welding, figuring out the driveshaft, and it's in.
