It Begins.. SAS swap like none other.
Giving up on the project?
Not giving up but if I can sell the bigger items and make some cash back ill do it. I have all the parts I need just no time. I'm working 65+ hrs a week
yea i have a late model 30 that runs the 297 u joints (same as 44's for people that dont know) but actually sadly this is going to run 2wd for a lil while until i figure out my trans/transfercase choice. which arent much but with the heigth of the truck and the output styles of the BW cases i need to make sure i will have NO driveline vibrations. so im most likely going to have to run a CV style joint at one end and clock the transfer case. but for now, ill actually run just the stub shaft. Cause im changing the gears in the front to match the soon to be 4.88's in the rear. but i dont want to replace bearings and races twice after the axle is powdercoated by putting the factory diff back in then new stuff ya know. but that will for sureley only be temperary. I finally picked my colors. Southern Silver and Pshycho Yellow. By the time the truck is done it will be satin black with only the sides of the hood and upper doors, roof and cab yellow.... tone it down a lot
Yea I will be boxing in the rear a bit. I'm pulling the spare tire but leaving the mount. The cradle will have a cross brace so it will act as a "plated area" with a cross member. and I'm sure I'll sleeve the gear box and add a tube brace in front of the motor.

steering parts in

everything should be dropped off at the powdercoater by the end of the week. were moving the whole shop to the new location so thats been priority lately. plus ive had to hand over some extra cash to the wife lately for crap thats come up around the house etc....slowly but surely so thats good.
got all my coils in finally....i ordered half of them wrong like an idiot. the fox boxes in the pics are the fronts w/ resi's =]. i have ALL 16 johnny joints and tube adapters AND All my trac bar, panhard, rod ends and tube adapters etc. so all i truly have left to buy is the gear box and all the parts to rebuild the axle.... oh and build the front and rear shock hoops and build front and rear tracbar/panhard frame brackets and build all the link arms etc...but all that will be done on the truck before final assemly and final powdercoat
its been a few months... had a LOT going on. ill post up some stuff about that in a diff place.. but I should be getting a few days here soon to work on the truck and get some more work done. but I am finally 99% done acquiring all that I need to do it, so that's sick.
Holy crap it's been a while. Sorry I've been busy as hell at the shop and life. UPDATE front axle and center cradle are at powder coat now. Once I get those back I can rebuild the front axle and start getting the coilover hoops built link arms etc. I'll post pics when I get them from pc
