Are flat top Knuckles and a Toyota..

Ok guys I've done some research and I am still confused. I have a 2002 Ford Ranger xlt 4.0 Ranger and i'm gonna leaf spring it with a 1986 grand waggy dana 44. I already have gears manual locking hubs locker u joints front drive shaft my ? is is a Toyota Steering Box absolutely required or is there another way and Flat Top Knuckles are they required? I have seen folks use heims but I didn't know if they had heims and the flat top knuckles some pictures are hard to see. Thanks for any and all Help Yall can provide. And plenty of pictures are very well appreciated.

Typically you need the flat top knuckles on a leaf spring truck to run. High steer too clear the leaf springs. See waggys have spring under the axle setups from factory. Everyone does a spring over on them for lift and ride. When you do spring over you need flat top knuckles and high steer arms to clear.

As for the Toyota box you don't have to use one but you need a box that mounts outside the frame and that's the most common one because they are strong.

Old ford broncos will work and a few others. Some people wedge jeep boxes inside the frame but clearances are really tight in there.

ok thanks that answered my ?s. Ill get to checking on the steering boxes. What are the best options for the Flat top Knuckles on a grand waggy axle? Ive seen some eople say dodge some say fsj and some say chevy I would like to use the easiest swap but I also need something decently easy to find or if their is a website that's reasonable that sells them I've come to notice these things are quite high. I would like to use the steering arms and stuff that were attached to the waggy axle if at possible thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it.
