Icon3 03 ranger.. 98 front end swap???

ok so ive been thinking on switching to a sas but after riding in one f that!!!!! so what i would like to do is make my 03 ranger 4x4 have locking hubs. easy enough right. ok well my ?? is if i get a 98-99 wheel bearing hubs, the cv axles, and manual locking hubs. will it work..????

will the cv's slide into my front diff?

can i use my stock knuckle and bolt the new hubs to it??

and if i put maunal hubs on it will i have to worry about all that vacum bull crap with the 98 front ends ??

i have looked and looked and didnt find much on this. im very mechanically capable and could just do it all but hey maybe one of the ford goo roos on here can tell me a 100% yes or no or the best way to go about this... reason for it is les where and tare on my front diff and i can build up my own ifs lift and not have to buy new u joints all of the time on my front diff. as well as less tc chain where. plus i like to just put my truck in 2 low not have hubs lockes in for pulling little things around my house or just going supper slow over some rough terain..

any ways thanks for the input guys and all ur help !!

Yes, it has been done by several people. I don't know all the details but you do have to replace a lot of parts and I am pretty sure that includes the drive axles. I considered it but after seeing how much it would cost, I dropped the idea. I may still do it someday when it comes time to replace the wheel bearings.

I know one person that did it and decided it was not worth the effort and cost to do it.

If you use the manual locking hub system, the only thing you need to be concerned about on the vacuum system is to plug the hole to the vacuum port to keep the dirt out.
