04 Steering Arm End

2004 Ranger Edge 2wd

I recently noticed my RH steering arm boot at the wheel was torn. I ordered a set to replace both left and right together. After removal of old and fitting on new, I noticed the bolt was too short to attach the nut when in position. I removed and compared old and new side by side. The length and taper are different. I returned to the part store and every model has the same part number end fitting. I did buy this truck used but can’t imaging anyone putting a non ranger wheel hub on it. Both sides have the same issue. My question, could there be a different end from another Ranger model which could cause this issue? Since I don’t know the hub part number (assuming it is not a ranger hub), I don’t know what arm end will fit it. As of now, my only option would be to replace the wheel hub and arm assembly together.

You might want to try parts for a 4x4

Your Edge should have torsion bars for the front suspension,
As far as I know, ALL 2wd Rangers are coil spring front suspension EXCEPT the EDGE.

Understood. My truck does have torsion bar suspension. My issue is with steering parts, specifically the end where the steering tie rod attaches to the steering arm on the wheel Assy.
