06 Ranger and replacing Shocks

I purchased a used 06 Ranger (4x2 RWD XL) a few months back and want to replace the shocks. The truck has a lift on it but I know nothing about lifts, I have only lowered my cars. I looked at the shocks on the front and I think the person that had the truck before me didn’t change the shocks when the truck was lifted. I can see a gap between the in the middle of the shock where the top would cover the bottom portion of the shock when compressed. I am guessing that gap shouldn’t be there. I have 31x10.5R15LT tires on tthe truck.

I want to replace the shocks but I am not sure what I should get, stock or shocks for lifted trucks. The gap for the front between the tire and body is around 7.5 inches. The shock itself front top to bottom (still on the truck) is 19 inches. I found some Bilstein 5100 Series Shock Absorbers for a truck with a 4 inch lifted height, problem is I have no clue how much my truck was lifted.

Any suggestions on how I can tell how much the truck was lifted or what shock I should go with?

How was the truck lifted?

Torsion bars or coil springs?

If you post pictures of the truck for us, we can better help you.
