1970 Ranger Suspension Replacement
 

Hey guys!
Girlfriend has a great 70s truck, but it bounces like a fat kid rolling down a hill.
As far as we know it is the stock suspension, and we wish to replace it. We want to start with the leaf springs and work our way forward.
Could you guys recommend any websites that sell springs? I'm not an expert on springs so I'm not sure if I can just buy any set and slap them on to the truck or if (what I suspect) need to find make and model specific springs that fit our truck.

What size truck is it? You mention Ranger, but in 1970 Ranger was just a trim level. Is it an F100, F250, or F350?

Two places you should start your search would be LMC Truck, as well as National Parts Depot. Both locations offer parts for Classic Trucks, and should offer the things you need to get your suspension back in shape. There may be other companies that offer parts for your era of trucks, but these two were the only ones that really had a reasonable selection of parts for my 1980 F150.

Springs will generally be make and model specific, and can even go as far as being GVWR specific. Some companies may even offer springs that are stiffer or softer and at different lengths (for lift kits) to fit customer preference.

I checked both of those sites but it looks like they are missing any leaf springs for my model year.

I checked out the Bronco suspension options in NPD (should be the same as the Ranger) and there's some resto replacements made by Eaton Springs but they're priced at more than $500?? Is that the right price for leaf springs?
