I have a 2001 2WD XL Reg Cab Ranger and will be installing 2" Maxtrac Coil Springs as well as 2" Rear Blocks very soon. I need to replace the shocks but im having somewhat of a hard time finding the correct length shocks. After some research i see that a factory set of 4X4 shocks should be close to the correct size i'd just like to confirm before purchasing them.

The rear isnt a issue because i can just order them for a 4X4 that came stock with the 2" rear block. The front is the ones that are giving me a headache.

Can anybody help with front shocks? Will shocks designed for torsion bar front suspension bolt up to a truck with coil spring front suspension?

Mounting wise... i dont see why not. The types of mounts are the same.

IF they will be correct for the application needed I cannot say as Ive never tried it.

 

Just a FYI, the mounting holes on the bottom of the 4X4 shocks are closer together and did not bolt up. Had to use 2WD shocks with 2" shock extenders.
