2004 XLT needs shocks...What is the best choice?

I'm all stock and need shocks. Which ones offer the best ride on a Ranger? How much $$$?

monroe reflex "monotube" units or KYB monotube, both around 50-60 bucks each.

more affordable then bilstines (sp)

I have Rancho, they are pretty nice. I know the more expensive ones have an adjustable firmness to them.

Bilsteins! They can be found on R-F and they cost more than other brands, but they're considered the best ride. I'm not sure what the type you need is but many people know.

Bilsteins. The ones that came stock on FX4 Level II's. On ebay...$240 shipped. all four.
