2005 Ranger torsion bar lift help

hey everyone..I have a 2005 ranger xlt 4wd and we did the torsion key lift.Love the way the truck looks and only difference is its a little stiffer ride, which I dont mind.Only problem is today i went over a small bump at about 40 mph and it feels like it has zero shock absorption(it was just a clunk). It has new regular shocks,am I gonna have to get Billstein or rancho shocks or can I just use a shock extender...Need input please

Cranking the torsion bars effectively makes the shocks less effective, no matter the brand.

The more you crank the bars, or if you install heavier bars (V8 Explorer #1 bars for example) the stiffer the ride will be. It's the nature of the beast with torsion bars.

Aftermarket torsion keys aren't used by many in the Ranger scene for a reason.
