1997 ford ranger 2wd 6” lift help

I’m in the process of going thru and redoing a buddy of mines truck that passed away I recently bought. It’s a 1997 2WD ranger xlt 2.3L.I want to put a 6” inch lift on it so I can tuck 33s (looking for a a newer rear ranger 8.8 4.10 rear end to swap to compensate for the tire size) but not sure where to look have heard so many mixed stories on different kits, looking for some suggestions! Also anything you found out hindsight that you wish you would’ve done or have learned or things the kits don’t provide that you need and I should look out for? Anything helps, thanks In advance!
