2011 4x4 keys and shackels

I am wanting to lift my truck a couple of inches. I found a lift kit that has 1"-3" keys and rear shackels. I cranked my stock keys up and got about 1-1/2" in the front. I guess my first question is, I know my 99 ranger sits higher and I have seen on here that pre 08 keys are differant than what I have. Can I just get pre 08 keys and crank them up to get the rest of the lift that i am looking for? Would it just be better to get the kit with the aftermarket keys? Are the shackels the way to go in the rear? I do not want to stiffen the ride up to much. I know I will be able to put 31-10.5-15 tires on it but will there be enough to put 33-10.5-15?
Thank you for any help.

YES.

I was a heavy part of the "research team" that discovered exactly what Ford did to lower the 08+ torsion bar trucks........it was a factory clocking of the torsion key.

Installing 98-07 torsion keys with the same pre-load will get you approx 1.5-2" of lift IN ADDITION to the regular torsion cranking numbers. It's called the PreKey mod and has been repeated several times in the past including myself on a 2008. It's the only part that changed between a 2007 4x4 and a 2008 4x4. Ford did install 1.5" rear lift blocks compared to 4x4's 2.5" and 2wd 2" lift blocks on 98-07.

After installation of PreKey, you'll have the same max tire sizes as the 98-07 tbar Rangers. This means 32x11.50 or 33x10.50 on a 15x8. 33x12.50 fit but is pretty stuffed and I don't suggest it.

No matter how you look at it, cranking makes it ride stiffer. Your best bet is to install better-than-stock shocks to held control the suspension. Bilstein 4600 blue-n-yellows come to mind as a great upgrade.
