lower ?

hey guys i have a 93 2wd splash ranger and im thinking about lowering it. i have see all this stuff like 2/3 and 5/7 does that mean 2'' in the front and 3'' in the back?

oh and i did not want it too low like i still want to go over a speed bump with out tearin up the whole undercarrage.
what would be a good drop for me?

4/5 is about perfect for a daily without having to worry about tearing up the truck. And yes, that would be 4" front and 5" rear. I'm sure Mark will be here in a minute to say 5/7 is livable, and it is, but I recommend not unless you're committed to low. 4/5 with stock tire size will result in some rubbing on the front tires on the top of the inner fender, but not so much as to bother me. Mark says if you put a 26" or smaller tire on the front, it's not an issue. I don't know as my tires are still 27". splash only needs 3/4 for a 4/5

Yeah but add 3/4 to your already 1 inch drop around and you will be at 4/5.

You'll be fine I drove around 5/7 with stock tranny crossmember for 2 years certain speedbumps I had to watch going over or I would smack it against it but in the 3 years of being dropped 4/5 or 5/7 I only bottomed out maybe 5-6 times.

Keep your diameter tire stock which is 235/60/15 with a 3/4 which will turn into a 4/5 your fine.

If done the line you still have a fear of bottoming out you can get a raised tranny member

So, This is a thread hijack, and my own curiosity. How did they achieve the 1" drop on on the splash? I've replace pretty much all of my suspension components going 4/5, and I'm wondering how they got that extra 1"?

Splash models, not all 2wd.

I think around 400 check out styling trucks.

They got their drop from the coils up front and leafs out back john.

DJM dosn't offer a 3/4 drop, and Stylin trucks doesn't have anything else. Here's what they have.

DJM 2/3 kit is $219.99. It uses 2" coils up front, with a flip kit and longer shackles out back. But since it uses coils up front, I think that would negate the splash's 1" drop.

The nice thing is, if you get the 2/3, you can just buy the control arms and put your stock shackles back on when you want 4/5 later.

Also, remember that when you go lower you're gonna need new shorter shocks. After shipping and shocks, I got 4/5 for about $900.

Hey john he has ibeams, not the control arms the 98+ trucks have

So hell need 3 inch dropped ibeams and a flipkit out back.

I wouldnt do leafs as you lose load capability and a flipkit is cheaper to do.

as for the front you wont gain anything with 2 inch drop springs because im sure your coils have settled since 93 so you wont gain anymore really.

With 3 inch dropped beams you can maintain stock shocks to

Run the DJM 3/4 kit, I'd say. Beams and flip kit.

3 inch dropped DJM or Belltech Ibeams

A flipkit out back which puts your axle on top of the leafs and maintain your cargo capacity.

The DJM 3/4

check on stylin concepts site, toxics are the cheapest but they are not that bad. I think mine were around 30 a piece.

You can also use nissan hardbody shocks in the back for cheap shocks and will get a stock ride.

Unless your shocks up front are old or shot I wouldnt replace them with the beams you can maintain stock length shocks up front.

I got Toxic's out back, and I like 'em. they're a bit stiffer than stock, but it helps with load control, keeping the axle off the frame when loaded.

yeah ok toxic are like 30 bucks . so it wouls cost around 455 bucks.
