Hi, i have a 2000 ranger rwd 3.0 that i've lowered 3" front 5"rear using a Maxtrac kit
I've been driving on it for a while with a small noticeable vibration on the factory wheels. i recently upgraded to larger wheels and tires 295 50 r15 mickey thompson sportsman st tires
15x10 aero race wheels 3" back space
after installing the new wheels the vibration got noticeably worse at highway speed
vibration seems to be coming from the rear end as i can see my tires moving up and down with the vibration
i suspect its pinion or u-joint angle.
has anyone else dealt with 3-5 drop and vibration? any advice would be appreciated!
i will do my best to up date this as i figure it out if no-one has any answers
Your pinion angle is probably out of whack. You can drop 10 Rangers and 5 of them will have pinion issues, and 5 of them won't. DJM sells shims (2, 4 and 6 degree) that can help fix the pinion angle.
