Shock Recommendations.

Truck has about 88k on it now. and a lot of it is stock.

i just put shackles on and i have expo leafs to go on as well.

i want to gain a little more but still take out the stock blocks, so maybe find a 1'' block to on there?

but what length/type of shocks should i get for the rear and front?

i do tow my bike/boat otherwise bed is empty, and i have a topper on it.

it doesn't ride bad now, just looking for something better than 11 year old shocks.

Bilsteins. Stock height would probably work just fine, or you could try to find them 1-2" longer if you are topping them out often or want to move the range of travel down some.

No the front shocks are completely different.
I had the bilstein HD (blue/yellow) shocks on my 99 Ranger, I just ordered the "stock replacement" parts. I had shackles in the back but after years of spring sag it was barely taller than stock so it worked fine. I don't know what the lengths are, you could try searching the part number, or calling Bilstein and see if they can recommend a certain shock that is slightly longer if you were really determined, but I wouldn't worry about it myself.

I'm thinking on getting some Bilswtein's for my 02 4x4 and I was wondering how long do the Bilsteins last.

I put them on my Ranger around 60k and sold it with 145k miles. They didn't feel as good as new but they weren't terrible consider the way I abused them. lol

Yeah I'm looking to put new Bilsteins on my 02 FX4, as well. Yes, it came stock that way but I think both rears are starting to make noise.
