Shocks replaced but lots of squeaking

I just replaced my shocks about two months ago. I'm hearing a lot of squeaking in the rear when I hit bumps and when I bounce the bed. It's getting annoying but I'm not sure where to look or what to grease up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What shocks did you put in? Is everything tight?

I put in monroe sensa-trac. I check and all is tight. There is a lot of dirt from going off road/hunting and I've never really cleaned under it except a quick spray to get the big clumps of mud off. Here is a link to it.

I had those too and they did the same. I think it is because they are a weight bearing shock and without enough weight them move all around. Its pretty normal.

I'm thinking about getting a bunch of sandbags to haul around. Gonna need something once it gets cold here.

It could be your leaf springs. My old truck did the same thing. I just sprayed them with WD40 and then hosed it off. lasts for about a month of no squeaking. didnt cost anything and it worked so win win lol

they have rubber pads on the ends of them which wear out/crack over time out in the elements

Here is a noob question...I was able to get a copy of the ford shop manual off ebay. After looking through it, I think I found the bushings, but they are listing it as rear stabilizer bar to axle retainer and rear stabilizer bar assembly. Is this the same? Thanks!

I'm not sure. Work and rain/snow have kept me from getting under and looking around. I'm hoping thats all it is.

Depending on what the bushings are made of (urethane or just rubber), lithium grease would quiet them down.

Did you tighten the shock nuts and bolts with the weight of the truck on them? If it was off of the ground, it can cause a bind on the lower shock bushings.

Just like tightening the leaf spring shackle and front hanger bolts when the rear tires are off of the ground... it will cause squeaking. A lot of squeaking.

Also... anti-seize. That stuff is awesome. Assemble, (or just loosen bolts/nuts if the new shocks are already installed) lower the truck, tighten bolts/nuts. Should not be a single squeak after that.

I had to tighten them when I lowered the truck. Took a few attempts to get everything lined up though.
