Drop Questions
Hey guys i have a 2000 ranger XLT extended cab (short bed, step side) i was wondering about flip kits. I dont wanna cut my frame at all. I have seen a few other rangers with 2/3 drops and they havent cut frame.....im seriously considering a 4/5 drop but, again i dont wanna cut frame. Anyone have suggestions on a 4/5 drop w/o cutting frame in the rear? PLEASE help me out guys! i know this is the place to ask....you guys always give great info. BTW im new if you all havent noticed....my names CJ if you wanted to know

Howdy CJ. Here's a good place to start your search since 2000 and 2002 Rangers XLT's are similar.

I run a 4/5 kit on my 02 (same suspension as your 00) and I haven't cut my frame. But the ride in the back is terrible. I haven't cut my bumpstops at all and my axle and frame are about 1" apart and I bottom out all of the time. I recommend getting a c-notch if you do go with the 4/5. I decided not to touch my frame yet because I am going to be getting bagged soon and I figure I might as well wait until then.
A 2/3 will not require cutting the frame at all. You will have plenty of travel. With the 4/5 you will also need new shocks all around.

Ok, you can go as low as 5 or even 6 inches without a notch, its been done. However, it will ride like crap. I am at a before and after standpoint, I had a 3/4 with no notch with bs still in and now i am bagged in front and 6 or 7 inch static drop in rear with a notch and it is excllent. With a flip kit your going to get a little more than a 3 out back. There really arent that many suggestions for a 4/5 without cutting the frame, you don't have to but I would reccomend it.

i have damn near the exact same truck and im from west palm too. i did a 3/4 drop on 20s im about to do a flip kit in the back and ive looked at all the options and your gonna end up cutting frame anyway. ive seriously looked at all the angles and it just makes sense to cut and get it over with. depending on where in west palm i can offer a great shop.
