My redneck "brute force" spring spacer for my front coils.

A guy at work cut these for me: 5.5" circles of 1" plate steel. He also gave me some pieces of 1" square bar with a 1/2" hole drilled in it.

I cut and notched the bar to make a spring retainer, and used a 1/2" bolt to fasten the whole thing to the top of my coil buckets. Gives me a bit more than an inch of lift because of the way the pockets were in the bucket vs. the flat surface of the plate.

The funny edge is because the piece was torch cut by an CNC cutting machine.

They work and my truck is finally level. The springs settled after I initially did the SAS but it's sitting pretty now.

Thanks. Not pretty for sure. But when I repaint everything this spring it'll be more "hidden", lol. I'll post the trucks stance when it's not dark out.

nice man maybe i should look into that.. my truck isn't sitting level i'm guessing the springs sagged a lil bit and the funds aren't right for a 3" lift coil

Here's the truck with the spacer in place.

I also re-installed my rock sliders. No more casual wheeling bent-sheet-metal incidents, lol.

Here's what it looked like before. You can see if you look at the distance between the tire and flare that it's higher now than a few weeks ago.

Ha ha! I've thought of it and it may eventually happen. Not quickly though.

DO IT!

Looks great John. Been meaning to ask you this....What's up with the grille? And is that a Levino winch plate?

Thanks, Shane.

The little wrap around pieces got snagged backing out of tight trail and cracked. I cut them off back at the grille center section because the cracks were "running". I then painted the part behind it black to make the structural stuff there less obnoxious. It reminds me of the eye black that football players wear, lol.

No, the winch plate is a Barcia -- Tom Barcia aka TBarCYa here. He's not around much since he got his Jeep but we're still in touch. It's made of 3/8" plate and 3/8" channel and is real strong. It bolts to the tow hook mounts. I notched the bumper and shortened the mounting channels to pull the winch back in a bit. It stuck out too far for my taste before. He fabbed it orginally for his 2000 Ranger, but then built a full bumper with a mount (which I have also but it needs cleaning and painting) and gave me this one. Later Tom's square tube bumper may replace it. Tom thinks it's ugly (the bumper) -- but I like it. He didn't take time to paint it very well or keep it up so it needs blasting and repainting or Line-X/Rhino lined or whatever.

Thanks Johno! You know, now that you mention it......it really does look like a football player ready to brawl.
