now..i dont have my front axle in hand..but do i need to get new ones up front or should i just use the stockers?

but if i needed to get new ones upfront..i could just tell them the axle and year it came from correct?

Big04Ranger 11-28-2006 05:38 PM

im partial to Moser myself... if your wanting front axles your gonna have to find a local place that deals with CV axles.. i dont believe that moser or superior make them.

HighRollerII 11-28-2006 05:46 PM

do you think leavin the stock shafts up front will be fine..im not off roading in it..just show and crap..but since im ordering new ones for the rear what you think i should do with the front?

got-dirty 11-28-2006 05:50 PM

so why do you want new shafts if your not offroadin? SAS?

yea pickin up the 44 in a few weeks

and thinkin of new shafts cuz i dont wanna break anything..so i thought might as well to just be safe

got-dirty 11-28-2006 06:08 PM

again, if you leave it with an open case, and not really wheelin it, it should be able to handle some big tires, how big, well, dont know.

www.currieenterprises.com

Currie. They can build you pretty much anything you can imagine.

yea i just finally figured out that concept..since it already has warn hubs..being open will be fine im gunna keep stock..just get the rears made to 6 lug..

got-dirty 11-28-2006 06:20 PM

youll be alright. when you start adding troque mulitpliers, like limited slips, lockers, mini spools, full spools, thats when you start breaking things. what size tires you wanting to run, since its a "show truck"?

HighRollerII 11-28-2006 06:21 PM

im leaning towards 38s..

get LS in rear

locker upfront

either 4.88s or 5.13s

probably 4.88s i just dunoo yet

got-dirty 11-28-2006 06:23 PM

yea, id go with 40s or something around that, but then id be concerned about them shafts. id go a step higher though, 39.5s, 38s are "common" to the ranger crowd, maybe even the show scene, so bigger can only get you noticed, but hopefully in a good way.

Moser doenst have a warrenty and they are "soft" compared to others. The ears stretch real fast, id go with Alloy USA, best warranty/customer service on the market.

HighRollerII 11-28-2006 08:03 PM

im gunna call em all up tomorrow and talk to them..and see what i can work out..ill keep yall posted..

Big04Ranger 11-28-2006 08:59 PM

you say that 38s are common for rangers? i know of at the most 7 rangers runnin 38s.. 90% of rangers run 33s or 35s in my opinion

got-dirty 11-28-2006 09:02 PM

exactly, how many do you know how many have 40s or larger?

I know you and resqdude run 37's, ryan runs 38.5's I can't think of many more on this site...I think theres 1 or two on ORR. jesse used to run 40's on IFS, then he went to solid axle...but he no longer owns that truck.

Also there is a white edge that is SAS'ed runnin around either rps or orr that is/was runnin boggers.

oh yea, I forgot brenton and jey are running 38" meats IIRC

I'll hopefully be on 37's sometime after my front end is rebuilt.

37's just look awesome on a ranger!!!
