axle swap.. 2wd

i want to swap a straight axle into a 2wd 94 ranger what is the best thing to use and how difficult is it going to end up being?

Front axle? Going 4WD? A couple of us have done this.

But if you're going larger on tires, you'll need a bunch of lift.

My Ranger is newer, but go to my Cardomain site (link in signature) and navigate to page 25 for info on my SAS. My Edge had 4x4 ride height to begin with which helps some.

There's a lot to do to get there. Having coil suspension to start thoush is good. It's generally easier to swap a solid axle into a TTB/TIB Ranger like yours then the later IFS front ends like mine.

Search "SAS" on here and you'll get a lot of hits, but there are a lot of "Project Logs" from guys who did SAS on older Rangers like yours.

It will be tough, but the only thing I have to contribute is to say swap a D60 in there!!

Oh man I saw a SAS on a 94 ranger on pirate today let me see if I can find it.
