have fun with the torsion bars

johnbg6 10-29-2009 10:26 PM

they will go away

Willzane 10-29-2009 11:09 PM

well the rear isnt any different than a normal ranger. the front i would think you wouldnt have to worry about the Tbars since your getting rid of them... so i assume it would be like bagging any other truck?

it will not lay out all the way unless you raise a section of the frame where teh engine is at.

2008xl 11-14-2009 11:21 PM

your gonna have to loose to tbars, and probably have to split the frame at the front

lowmazda 12-04-2009 11:37 PM

well u have to make a bracket to hold the upper bag but the lower arms u can probably get away with just drillin a hole to hold the bottom bag (im just assuming) but regardless you have to z the frame and get a new tranny x member go to illsuivefabrications.com he makes the x member. Or u can do a yota clip or mustang 2 clip upfront if u wanna go crazy.

ClemsonRanger03 12-05-2009 12:01 AM

is Djaye a member over here? he has it all figured out over on G-E,

Fx4wannabe01 12-05-2009 12:12 AM

^was here...but left. He's not bagged, he's coil-overed.

All said earlier in the thread is correct. Click the link Casper98 posted earlier. If it were me and I didn't have a coil-spring 2wd frame available anywhere locally to swap underneeth the truck, I'd be Z-ing the front frame and fabing up some bag mounts and a new x-member. Bottom line...wrong truck to start off with if your goal is to be low. You got a 4x4 without an axle or tcase.

You'll lay crossmember if you just throw in bags which mean hte valence is like 4" above the ground. Trans x-member wouldn't be be needed because he won't be laying rail but illusive doesn't offer anything for the torsion bar trucks(last time I checked). And they don't just unbolt....cut and weld is a must. Custom/modified control arms would help for the ride height and balljoint angles. It'll basically look like a 4/5 coilspring truck when "laid out".

LOL....uh.....they're being removed in favor of bags...

lowmazda 12-05-2009 12:34 AM

yea ur right but he probably can put one together should it be the same bc the torsion bars will b out already neways so nothing will b in the way

Fx4wannabe01 12-05-2009 01:06 AM

Figure he could run one of illusive's in-frame tubular or square x-members. But gotta get the t-bar key holder junk off the frame first for it to fit. But if an x-member needs on the truck, he'll already be cutting that crap out anyway.

But still...Z the frame. it's the only way you'll be satisfied with the truck. Only way you'll "lay frame".

lowmazda 12-05-2009 08:02 AM

very tru

kingwoodranger 12-06-2009 01:00 AM

i came across a guy that was completely laying frame on an 04' Ranger Edge he said he had to put the XLT cross member on(the one under the engine) and he custom fabricated an upper and lower control arm set up in the front. the rear he said was just like any other ranger

ClemsonRanger03 12-06-2009 06:46 PM

Body drop!

lowmazda 12-06-2009 06:54 PM
