What year are you talking about?

The S-10 Killer 09-18-2009 03:12 PM

my guess is a 2002 and i have no idea what your talking about..the new ones come in from the top and have an snap ring hold it in place...

The_Dealer 09-18-2009 03:30 PM

actually the snap ring is on top but u press em out the bottom...to install new ones press them thru the bottom...install snap ring on top side

The S-10 Killer 09-18-2009 03:35 PM

ok now im really confuzed...are we talking about the uppers or the lowers...

Sorry, I tried posting on my cell phone. I'm geting ready to do my lower ball joints tommrow, and the few threads I've read they talk about removing a snap ring, and pressing it out the bottom of the arm with a press. my question was regarding the installation. Do I press the new one up through the arm? Im guessing it will be self explanatory I was just being sure. Trying to gear up for it tommrow. I was just confused on how I'm going to press up something with a stud and not a flat side, and how much pressure is needed.. maybe it will make sense when I get the tool from auto zone.. Im going to now..

when you get the tool you will realize how it works...its pretty easy...and you can tell by looking at the replacement ball jkint it self

ok thanks, sorry about the confusion :tapedshut
