i have a 97 2x4 ext cab, and i dont have alot of money, so anyone have some ideas or know of a cheep kit.

Pless215 07-09-2010 07:56 PM

i'm sure other guys will chime in soon, but you can do the shackle flip....search on it and you can find tons. and as far as the front goes, you could either heat or cut the coils

mjtjr187 07-09-2010 08:05 PM

yea me and my friend were thinkin about cutting the front springs and flipping the leafs, but he said it will be a really ruff ride. and i have searched a bunch of ****. but its all wicked expencive so i just want to come up with something i can do for cheap and get used to it while im saving up.

Do it right the first time don't be cheap when it come to suspension, Get a DJM 3/4 kit with New drop beams and a flip kit.

x2, If your going to cut costs there are some places just not to do it and suspension is one of those. Just save for a good drop kit and keep your eyes open on the forums, you will find used ones going for a reasonable price.

no, think about the ranger lean. go for it.

seriously, wait and do it right. don't cheap out on something like suspension. it's not worth it.

i wanna go the other route and lift it and i'm not cranking my bars. i'll wait til i get new keys and shackles and do it right.

fourliter dan 07-10-2010 11:31 AM

key lifting isnt really right too... still all the same negatives as cranking the t bars

darkstar_420 07-10-2010 11:39 AM

keep your eye on ebay, craigslist, kijiji

morris 07-10-2010 12:04 PM

i meant pre key. not those "leveling kits"

Real cheap way that my friend did on his subaru baja was pretty ghetto. heat up the coil spings with a oxy/ace torch get the fork lift press it down on the tailgate and spray the hose at the spings and bamm its lowered. rides terrible tho and probly will crack
