Bilstien

Ok my shocks are shot. I want Bilstien but 1 concern is about weight. I laod alot of newspapers in the bed on sundays. Can the bils handle the weight. or will they wear out faster. Note its only about a 1000 lbs or so.

I had 1000 lbs in my bed the other day with the stock shocks and it had no problem, i think the Bilstiens would do fine.

I agree. I heat my house using a woodstove so I haul alot of firewood and I'm still using the stockers. I think the bilsteins will do just fine.

the aftermarket shocks are all rated for different weights. Just get a shock that out performs whats 'suggested' bed weight and you wont have any problems. remember, its a truck shock.... unless it has a Mickey Mouse logo on the side of it, you will have no worries.

However keep in mind, the higher the weight rating, the stiffer the shock

Dude if you want a real good shock, be different than everyone else and go with KYB MonoMax shocks. I have a cutout of a bilstien and the working cylinder is 34mm compared to the 46mm of the Monomax.
