Bilstien 5100 question...important!!! Blew my shock out

Ok i was wanting to run some 2.0 resis on my rig but this morning i blew out my drivers Fabtech 2.5" shock(supposed to be for 2.5" of lift), upon removing my passenger side i realized that it was a half inch from bottoming out at ride height. im looking at the BE5-E675-HO Bilsteins, but they say they are for 3" lift, ive looked everywhere and i cant find any extended or collapsed lengths for them nowhere. what im wanting to know is are they going to be too long since i only have 2.25" springs?? i need some shocks with the quickness and i can pick them up at Summit farely cheap

Sounds like you need to take some measurements of your own, and call bilstein for the 5100 measurements.

I'm not seeing a 5100 part number for your truck anyway...?

i know fox makes a drop in replacement for spindle/arm kits. or at least they used to.

Fox prt#Fox980-99-272-A
bilstein prt#BE5-E675-HO

if the fox's are a strait drop in deal i would prolly rather go with them, but my shocks have a metal tab running thru the bottom eye so it can be mounted on the studs on the LCA, will the fox's come with those metal tabs? if not i dont see how they would work they dont look to have a bushing

Got it... 2wd... I was looking at 4wd...

To run the foxes you will need to weld tabs to the lower control arm.

ok, i wanted to run 8" resis anyways but the funds aint right right now, so the bilstiens are prolly what im gonna go with until i get my wallet right...im pretty backed up with billing for my business so im behind on getting paid (which sucks)

im running the pro comps right now until i have the money for bilsteins. there are for stock height and every time i hit a bump theres a loud boom from them extending all the way out. but anyways last time i was at summit i checked on shock that are for like 2-3 inches of lift and pro comp does make a few. es 1000s es 3000s and es 9000s i believe. summits only a 15 minute ride for me :biggthump

from what i was told by a fox rep, they have the bar in the bottom and it was a drop in replacement. it was designed to go with the camburg and fabtech kits. Now, they could have changed that, but call em up and double check. I am pretty positive though.
