I know this has been covered many times but im still not quite sure on the true answer.

Which is a better suspension lift, 4 inch superlift, of 6 inch RCD? If it werent for the large underhang of the superlifts torsion bars, and the fact of getting coil overs in the front, I would get the superlift. but I also want a 6 inch lift.

I heard the 6 inch RCD flexes for crap, but im sure custom deavers in the rear would fix this. not to mention, any IFS is not gonna flex well.

I would really like to hear from owners of the lifts themselves but all input is appreciated.

 

I'd look into a Skyjacker rear leaf spring pack before I bought a Deaver spring pack.

Obviously the performance of the RCD kit is far superior. Everday driveability being the key benefit. Superlift offers near stock performance, on and off-road, whereas the RCD kit manages a lot more than that.

IFS perfomance is maximized with the RCD kit, but the cost is the main factor in me NOT buying one. $2200? Get real. I'd put a solid axle on my truck for less than that. Now...if I found a used one on Ebay, that'd be a different story.

Basically, if the RCD kit were in the ballpark price range of the Superlift, I would definetly get the 5.5" RCD kit. But since it is about a thousand dollars more, I'd get the 4" Superlift and a 3" bodylift.

Gildo, you already have a bodylift on your truck, right? You can easily run 35s with the additional 4" lift, and I would suggest not trying to put a bigger tire on our small trucks with OE axles.

 

Do you want to rephrase that.... The 5.5" RCD lift is the one with the Coil Overs. The 3-4" Superlift is the one with the torsion bars hanging down.

If you want quality go with the RCD, but its 3 times the price of the superlift....

 

If you want a serious lift i would get the RCD... If you get the superlift you basically still have the same ground clearence.

The RCD kit provides you with traction bars that are in a similar position to the torsion bars. While not AS low, they are still there. The RCD kit also provides a front cross-member drop down that is lower than Superlifts by about an inch.

The RCD kit does provide an inch more of ground clearance throughout the wheelbase with improved breakover, approach/descent angles and a better performing suspension kit.

I'm just pointing out how similar the two kits are in terms of pinpointing ground clearances.

By the way, 35 inch tires are the largest tire that i would EVER put on my truck. and Im getting moser axles when i get a burst of extra cash.

 

Ha the RCD lift kits are made less than 2.5 miles from my house! Definatly go with the RCD if you were going to do anything at all. Now that they have the front suspension travel "issue" fixed it is the best lift made for our trucks to date. Now the "issue" that I am referring to is a member of G-E named $tone03 was out in the desert and his whole passengers side front suspension got torn off from the A-arm out because they did not have a limiting strap in the kit that was worth a crap or there wasn't one at all. Now keep in mind this was right after the kit had come on the market and NOBODY had really tested this kit out other than the R&D guys here at RCD. But as with a lot of you 2200.00 is a lot of money for a lift.
