Upper control arm fitment

I'm preparing to do upper control arms and lower ball joints on my 2001 4wd. I'm confused about the upper control arm. Mine is a two-piece arm on the passenger side. I don't know why this one would be different than the driver side. It seems to offer additional adjustment capabilities, but why would only one sided need that adjustment. I have heard that the one piece uca that is available will work. Will I be able to get a proper alignment without the adjustments that the two-piece uca has? Thanks.

It's not going to make a difference I believe. Are you not the first owner? I don't remember from my research Ford using asymmetrical styles of UCAs. I am about to do the UCAs on my Ranger and after research I've discovered some people replace one side at a time and will replace with their preferred style of part (pre-greased, w/ grease fittings, or two-piece). I don't think it'll hurt having different ones.

I got my parts cheap so I just got the same for both sides, one-piece, and will replace them at the same time. I suppose you can replace one at a time but I would make sure its the same style as the other one.

Yes, I'd just go for the 1 piece arm. I did that on my 99 and never had issues. I also installed camber kits on both sides just because they're cheap, easy to install, and provides more adjustment to get the alignment spot on since you can't adjust caster at all with factory stuff.
