Spring Tech lift?

Hey guys right now I have lift spindles on my 2wd XL and I want to go higher. I was thinking abouta body lift but lately I have been wanting to do more suspension lift. Does anyone have the Canuck motorsports/Spring Tech lift coils and upper control arms? How is the quality and ride with the springs? I have heard they are the same as Doetsch but I don't know anything about the doetsch ones either lol.

I found where I can get either 2.5" or 3" lift coil and upper arms with ball joints for about $440 shipped.
http://www.canuckmotorsports.com/cat...lift.html#3024

What do you guys think?

Thanks

I have one side on. But theres a problem. The upper arms are resting on the bumpstops and there is no suspension flex at all. I don't want to start the other side since something is obviously wrong.

Ive checked the springs and they are fully seated. What should I do? I have 2" spacers, I'm almost temped to put them in with the stock springs.

I know springs "break in" a little but it literally doesn't move now, and I doubt they will soften up THAT much.

Any input? Thanks.

ok I think thats a false alarm. I dropped it down and drove it around a bit (With just the one side done) and it seems to work pretty good. The coil is rubbing on something when I go over bumps but at least it seems to actually flex now lol.

I think I'm gonna call it a night and pick up in the morning. I feel like I will go insane if I do more today lol.

ya man thats what i was saying when you pm'ed me. I can remeber if it was on here or rps. i have the blue ext cab with the black crager 8's. I had to trim out the lip on my spring pocket cause the damn noise drove me crazy. If you look inside your spring pocket it curls into a lip and you just have to grind that lip down. I used a plasma cutter but if you cant get a hold of one a grinder works just fine.

I have been looking at it and it actually doesn't look like its rubbing on the frame. But it has a little gap under the spring where it goes into the lower control arm. I'm not sure if there is a way to fix this or not. It almost looks like the spring is a tiny bit too big on the outside diameter.

Does anyone know if there would be problems grinding down the outside of the lower coil to make it fit? It only needs maybe 1/16" as the new coils look to be about 1/8" larger than stock.

Did you rotate the spring and seat it properly before you reconnected the suspension? The coil might not be seated right from the sounds of that. Could be what is giving you more lift than you need.

ok I got the other side done. It seems to sit about right, it sags out with the truck on the ground.

Yeah I keyed the spring how it is stock, with the end of the coil at the lowest point in the coil bucket. Both sides make noise though, but they don't seem to be rubbing the inside of the frame. So I think it might be on the control arm. But I'm not quite sure what do do about it lol.

I think I am done working for the day though, as it is 95* and I don't feel like taking it apart to mess with it lol.

It seems to be just fine other that the noise, so I think with a quick driveway alignment it would be ok to drive.

Anyone have any reason I could not drive it like this?

On the plus side, The ride doesn't seem to bad and it looks sweet. I will try to get pics up soon.

Should be fine man. The noise could be your bushings or another worn piece in the suspension. My lower ball joints creak like crazy right now lol but it rides fine. Bet it does look sweet though.

BTW didn't you make your own custom front suspension? How did that work out?

My kit came with the upper arm bumpstops(like the fabtech style ones) so I used those. I figure I will just run it and see if maybe the springs seat themselves. If not, eventually I will do something about it LOL.

Yeah I did make some control arms. It worked ok, but I made a mistake using ball joints, they just don't have much angle of operation. If I did it again I would go Uniballs/heims for everything possible and think about a coilover, or at least some stiffer springs.

I really like how it looks. Sadly I'm not sure if I want to keep it or not. Nothing wrong with the kit at all, I'm just kind of an impulse buyer(bad with my interest in trucks and bikes!) and don't know if i want to keep it or not. I feel stupid haha.

Hmmm.. anyone maybe interested in a good deal on a brand new lift? lol
