Broken torsion bolt replacement???
So I broke one of my bolts and I am wondering if it has to be one of the same type of bolts or can I get away with using like a grade 8 from the hardware store?? Thanks
|
it would have to be same size and thread count yes grade 8 atleast. best thing is order a new one from the dealer monday
|
Ya that would be optimum but I need a Sunday fix cause I'm leaving for three months tommorrow nigh lol I think I'm gonna need to find something to work
|
find another tbar ranger -- theres yah bolt..if you found a good hardware store they might have what your looking for..
quick junkyard run? |
Not having any luck at a junkyard the good ones are closed......
|
bummer....I've got two sitting at the house....but I'm 2 hours away from home, and there's no way I could get em to you in time.
|
try a bolt out of an Explorer if you can find one.
It should be the same, same bolt same length and same thread, , |
I know your on the other side of the water from me but if your in norfolk ever there is Tidewater Fasteners ( Screw Products i think is what they are called now )
2314 Ingleside Road Norfolk, VA 23513-4546 There is also another place is in Ocean View its a hardware store that has tons of bolts and such. Not sure of the address... I think your best bet would be the Dealer |
10 or 12x1.25. I've run a different bolt w/out issue, until the t-bar bolt came in at the local ford dealership. Didn't really effect the ride or anything
|
is the head broke or the whole bolt? if just the head leave it, it will be fine until the next time you need to take it apart.
use some heat next time and it wont break. |
