This is his quote from the original write up that is no longer available on ORR since the last upgrade:

Quote:
To ensure proper fitment, placement and accurate travel numbers Camburg removed the stock shocks and torsion bars.
After cycling the suspension through its complete range of travel, we found out that the CV joints bind at roughly 9 inches.
It was then decided to limit the travel to 8 inches, which allows the limit straps to stretch a half of an inch without the suspension binding.
I can't say that it isn't 8 1/2" or 9" total travel because I didn't take mine all apart to measure it. All I can talk about is the delta - on my truck, it is about 1/2".

so i wasnt too far off. with his comment on "roughly" i think that could be the variance between every truck. im kinda disapointed in the results and i didnt do it to my truck.

The geometry just isn't there for a dramatic increase in travel. That's why the LT guys extend the control arms 3-4" per side and replace the CV's with high angle specials. However, I'll take any increase in travel and I am still expecting much better wheel control than the stock "half" shocks could deliver.
