As my screen name suggests I'm relatively new to the DIY truck community. Here's the situation.

I'm driving to Charleston IL tomorrow for Memorial Day. My truck needed one new tie rod and new ball joints. I finished the tie rod and the upper ball joints and had it aligned, however, I did not have time to finish the lowers. When I hit 55 mph I begin to notice vibration, by the time I hit 65 it's deafening.

Looking at my front tires I notice uneven wear. After completing the drivers side I put the spare on to reduce the number of tires I have to remove for my tire rotation (back tires have no uneven wear). Also, the vibration stops when I veer/turn right. The spare tire on the driver's side also has no uneven wear.

My question are:

1.) What are the chances my truck will fall apart on me in the middle of the interstate?

2.) Is it possible that the uneven tire wear is causing most/all of the vibration?

Sorry for the complicated post, and thank you for your help.

I would get the balance and alignment checked.

vibration you feel, or noise you hear, or both? you state deafening, along with vibration....
noise going away when you turn right normally equals wheel bearings(right side).

1) what kinda luck do you possess?
2) vibration could be the tire, move it to teh back and see if things change.
