Anyone here a welder in the San Diego/Socal Area? Once I get the brackets, I'll be doing the conversion, but the autoshop on base doesn't offer welding services, and that is the only part I can't do. I'm not opposed to going to a shop down here, but I figured I'd see if anyone wants to take my money first.

8" travel shocks? Are you using my kit, and what have you done to the suspension? Even with a Superlift, 8" travel is too long for a coilover conversion unless you're using tall shock hoops.

Curious to see what youi're doing.

Yes we are using your brackets and your bolts because there are good quality bolts, and couple of the spacers. The lower bracket position in set in stone and we are keeping the original LCA. For the upper bracket we may chop off originial moumt and make an extention of 3 inch in height to mount your bracket to. However our first install is going in as you would do. UCA will need to be made...if we could find a set that extends and extra 1.5 to 2 inch maybe id buy them but not much to making a set either...we will offset pin to A Arm down..Now this is the first time we have done any of this so i hope my math is good...if my math is correct the front should sit 3 to 4 inches higher on 500 pound springs ...and we should be able to dukes of hazard the sand dunes and mayne a train crossing or two.

MEStepSide,

Just curious if you've thought about offering lower brackets as described here:

For the spacers that come with the kit, which side do the larger ones go on? I put the larger ones on the upper mount, because that is the only way I could get it to sit tight. I saw in the thread some people put the larger one to the rear, and the smaller one in front, but that left me with 1/8" of play for the shock to slid fore and aft. On the bottom, I'm looking at both smaller spacers. I can attach pictures if needed, and any input is recommended.

Moved the stock BS to mount in the rear tab hole, just used a through bolt on it. I forgot my straps at home, so ill install those tomorrow, and pull the bars as well.
Finished product. New tie rods, upper A Arms and ball joints. The lower BJ was awful. Ill post a video if i can.

Alright, so I finished the swap, and holy smokes talk about an improvement. It was too late in the day for firestone to do a full alignment, but I got the toe fixed, but my camber is still a bit off. That aside, the ride is so much better. Regular road travel is so smooth, speed bumps are a thing of the past! I only had about 1.5-2" of clearance on 31" tires, and now I'm up to 3-3.5" and the truck finally sits level. I need to tweak the preload to level the driver/passenger side a bit, but overall, I'm happy with it. I'm running 650lbs springs, and I'll see how these feel over the next couple of weeks as they settle in. I'm only running about 1.5" of preload, and I know I'll need to tighten that up, especially as the springs settle. I'll get some truck pictures of how she sits now, and I'll measure the side height to see what I'm sitting at now.

At $325 I'd be looking for a new fabrication shop. Get that price down and your customer base growing. There is an online fabricator bid service that I could probably have these made for less than half that price, provided I had the drawing files. J/S

Guys, I do still make these, but I just got word from the fabricator that my cost is going up a little, so here is the latest pricing:

Pricing:
$325 shipped to the US
$360 shipped to Canada

Kit includes:
4 brackets (2 upper, 2 lower)
4 gussets to reinforce shock tower
2 shock tower spacers for upper mounts
8 rod end spacers (for 1/2" wide rod ends--like Fox)
All hardware to install--grade 8 zinc plated

What else you will need:
2 coilover shocks
2 coil springs
2 limit straps and brackets (do NOT skip these!)

What you may need:
Bump stops if you are lifting your truck at the same time, but if you already have a Superlift, or if you are remaining at stock height, you can reuse what you have. You simply need to trim back the bracket on the frame where the bump stop mounts, so that the coilover will clear it. You then redrill a hole in the remaining part of the bracket and mount the bump stop further in. Depending on your bumpstop, you may want to have a tab welded onto your LCA to give you a flatter area for the bump stop to contact. I would suggest moving the bump stop before you have the gussets welded, so you can have this done at the same time.

To order:
1. Send payment to sbeau1 (at) metrocast (dot) net.
.......include in your instructions that it's for Ranger coilover brackets, and your R-F user name
2. Post in this thread that you've sent payment.
3. check in on the thread for updates.
4. Post pics of your install!

Email is always the best method to get in touch with me. I don't come on here very often, and usually when I do, I find a message that is at least a few weeks old.

Thanks to all of you guys for the support in making these. I'm happy to be able to offer something to the RBV community.

Here is the sellers information

Has anyone run 12" springs on the stock height ranger? I searched through the forum, and see a handful of people talking about 12" springs, but I haven't seen it on the stock height, just the SL trucks. My preload put the nut behind the a-arm, and I'd like to crank a bit more, but can't get the spanner on anymore.

Hi my kid and I put in a set of 8" travel coil overs....spring was 12-13 inch we copped off the tops of the existing top mounts and extended them 4 inchs higher..so the over all height only lifted 4 inches.."this is what we wanted"..sway bars gone torsion spring gone....with 31 inch bf's what a fun ride...she rolls over tracks and makes your stomach drop . we are about to replace the rear spring mounts and ind install some fox smoothies back there..then we see how she rolls. i can be more descriptive if you would like to know more..i posted some pics.

BRAND new to forums btw. I was just wondering if these brackets are still available to buy. Im tired of the terrible ride quality from cranked tbars and am trying to stay leveled and not lifted.
Thanks in advance.

ME00stepside is the man you seek. he makes the bracket package for the fox coil over conversion.. i bought his set up, it was very well made,i would recommend them.
How ever we went with some crazy King Coil set up. so we modified ME00's brackets to work with our set up. At the end of the day we chopped off tops of old shock tower tops and bolted and welded in supports to raise the tower by 4 inches. ME00's brackets are the foundation of our modification. so the truck sits about 4 inch higher up front. that leaves good room for 31's and cog didn't get crazy. we can corner really hard. Ya know i still cant get over the feel of this set up ...to us worth ever penny. but i think the same came be achieve at a fraction of the price. talk to the guys that did the fox swap bet they are really pleased as well.

I'm interested in this conversion as well. My superlift kit is en route, and after I get wrenching my plan is to fab these brackets from a blueprint I found on another forum from 1/4" steel. If all goes successfully, I'll consider making extra if there is still interest out there.
