Coilover Brackets by ME00stepside (NO LONGER AVAILABLE AS OF 7/23/2021)

has anyone completed the coilover brackets yet?

ZWilson07 02-18-2011 04:17 AM

ahh I think were getting there and a few are working out the last details so hopefully it should be coming sometime soon. I was told by ORW that they are supposidly coming out with a new kit, but now official date when its going to be released. SO I havent decide if im going to try and wait it out for it or no.

I'm working on getting a quote from one of the shops I work with, but it's taking too long, so I'm now working with another shop. Hope to have pricing and turn around time soon.

sounds good. am I correct that everything is still available to buy or buy a part that will work except for the brackets correct?

Yes, you have a few options for shocks and coilover springs available that will work.

ZWilson07 02-22-2011 07:50 PM

what are the options? Ive read through those threads like 3 seperate times I just dont feel like going through them all again. and do you have a quick parts list you could type up of everything that you need?

When doing something that isn't a "bolt-on kit", research is really something you NEED to do.

I'm not even sure someone has completed this mod without using the now discontinued "kit" from ORW. I'm getting closer to installing my stuff, but I don't want to give out a bunch of information that might not work (although in those threads you mention, I give most of my part #'s out!). I'm hoping to get a few of the angles off my brackets by this weekend to help out one of the other threads here.

Once I know what worked on my truck, I will create a new post with all the part #'s in one place. I was willing to gamble with damn near $1,000 worth of parts, but I don't think everyone wants to be doing that!

Plus, the materials will vary depending if you have a superlifted truck or a stock truck.

Research, Research & MORE Research

ZWilson07 02-23-2011 06:26 PM

yeah well like I said I have read through those many times and researched it heavily and had everything saved in a document. Then my laptop crashed and I lost everything so I really didnt want to read through all those again and all that work if you had the list on hand thats all. But yeah sounds good, hope everything works out for ya.

Well, I finally got the quotes on the parts.

I can have these made through one of the suppliers I deal with.

Here's the info:

1/4" steel, laser cut, black powder coat finish (blasted and phosphate treated for optimum adhesion)

$125/set plus shipping (probably around $15-20 for continental US)

This is for all four brackets, no hardware. If people would rather have hardware some with it, I can figure that out and put a "kit" price out there.

ZWilson07 03-30-2011 03:25 PM

YAY finally.

ME00Stepside 03-30-2011 04:03 PM

So let's hear it. What's the interest here?

beach ranger 03-30-2011 04:19 PM

i am in, what is the asking price for a kit with the hardware too

I'll price it out. I figured I would leave the hardware out, because people will obviously use different components with them, but I'll get a price and post it up soon. Give me a day or two.

VH5150 03-30-2011 07:02 PM

FINALLY---I'm in!! Would want to do the kit with all of the hardware. How about the gussets?

Don't you think it would be wise to make one for yourself to see if the bracket design is correct before you offer them to others? Just my advice.

Don't worry, I am. I'm not only going through the design test, but I will be getting a test set from the shop before I have them make a bunch. Pictures will be posted here. I'm working on this, but now that I have the pricing, I'm gauging actual interest in them.

I'm still fairly new around here, but I've been through this process before. Pics of my setup will be up as soon as the test set is in my hands, and I wouldn't take anyone's money until then.

Ford005 04-04-2011 10:22 PM

I'd be interested in a set once you are satisfied with them.

Red_Ak_Ranger 04-05-2011 09:55 AM

I'd buy a set once you've proven they work. Hardware included would be worth the $$ too

FMD 04-05-2011 09:09 PM

a buddy of mine already did this and it works well... my truck is next.

Thanks for your input. I've got a mod you can be the first to do.

Take me off the list...sold my truck this weekend.

RLong31 04-13-2011 04:25 PM

I will definitely be interested in a set, and it would be awesome if you could include hardware too. Saves some headaches on my end, lol. Keep us posted on how they perform.

I just received my shocks and I'm waiting on the first set of brackets. I hope to have some pics up soon!
