Props to a great seller. If you guys are thinking if this is the next step for yor truck. Wether stock height for ride or for lifted and clearance. Go for it!

X2 mine have held up great for years! I have made some improvements to my set but I like to tinker

Keep up the good work and coilover revolution!

All purchases from R-F have shipped. Stephen, I definitely shipped yours last week. I can't remember off the top of my head which day I shipped them, but you should have received a tracking number by email when I did.

Hi there, new to the forum, but not to Rangers. Is there a sticky for this? With details, prices, and install pics? Just so newcomers don't have to read through 65 pages of material. But looks good, and gives hope to edge owners such as myself. I plan to order a kit soon.

4 brackets (2 upper, 2 lower)

8 rod end spacers (for 1/2" wide rod ends--like Fox)

What else you will need:
2 coilover shocks
2 coil springs
2 limit straps and brackets

What you may need:
Bump stops if you are lifting your truck at the same time, but if you already have a Superlift, or if you are remaining at stock height, you can reuse what you have. You simply need to trim back the bracket on the frame where the bump stop mounts, so that the coilover will clear it. You then redrill a hole in the remaining part of the bracket and mount the bump stop further in.

Quick question. What coilovers is everyone running? Any part numbers? I want to run some with my 2.5" lift

FOX-980-02-000-A 2.0 coilover 5/8 shaft 5in of travel, it's been posted many time in this thread if you want more detail.

Also there is no such thing as a 2.5 in lift. I assume your talking about torsion bar keys which reindex the bars. This is a complete waste that can be done by adjusting the tbar preload. The t bars are also removed when doing a co swap.

Don't forget you need extended eyelets bump stops and limit straps for this swap.

You want the 5" travel shocks. Unless you've installed a Superlift, longer shocks aren't going to work well. I believe everyone using the 5" travel shocks go with the 10' springs, but I could be wrong. You want the shocks to have the compression travel available, and going with the 6.5" travel will not give you that, even if you're riding 2.5" higher than stock. Remember that the shock mounts to the lower control arm just about half way between the ball joint and the bushings, so 2.5" of lift is actually only rising 1.25" at the shock mount. While it would seem that a 1.5" travel increase would work, it's not quite enough to put you at the need for a longer shock, because the ride height is typically more than half way, so you'll still be close to the middle of the travel at ride height with the shorter shock, and compression travel is more important than extention. Which ever way you do go, you want to make sure that you have bump stops that keep your shocks from bottoming out, and limit straps to keep your shocks from overextending. Something to keep in mind with the coilovers is that setting them at their higher ride height, similar to a torsion bar crank, limits your extension travel because of the upper control arms pulling inward and contacting the springs. If you are trying to run your stock suspension at a higher hight, watch where you set your limit straps so that you don't have this problem.

A for part numbers, start at this page and work back. There is a part number list that keeps getting reposted, and I don't think you'll have to go back more than 5 or 6 pages to find the most recent copy.

Thanks guys i really appriciate it. I have seen alot of fox shocks 2.0 but i went on their site and there were a few to choose from lol

Here's my $.02

I've been running the CO setup at stock ride height on my 99 explorer sport for about a year now. I am not running the extended eyelets with no problems. The limiting factor for down travel on mine is not the control arms but the CV shafts. I have my limiting strap tension set just above where the CV shafts start to bind up. I also went with 650LB springs but would go heavier if I did it again. To get the ride height to match the back the spring is compressed so far down it's almost the limiting factor for up travel. Overall it's a great upgrade from the factory torsion setup.

Are you 4WD or 2WD?

4wd. I bought the extended eyelets but never used them. I think if you do the shock will bottom out before you run out of suspension travel.

That's weird, because the shock is usually close to hitting the CV boot even with the extended eyelets. I'd love to see a picture of your setup.

If you're sitting at stock height on an Explorer, I can definitely see why you might be afraid of bottoming out with them, but I don't think you actually would, because the bump stops are still the same as they are with the Ranger, and no one has mentioned bottoming them out.

I'm doing this on an order basis, because it wasn't working out very well doing batches, as I'd get twice as many people put their names on the list as would pay by the time I got the batch done, so I'd spend the next 6 months trying to move the ones I had.

I should be able to turn orders in a month, barring any unforseen issues popping up.
